The Deets

Okay, so listen up, fam. There was mad tea at the Waterloo Catholic District School Board. Trustee Conrad Stanley tried to pull a sneaky and ban basically every flag except the Canadian flag, the Ontario flag, and the school board's flag. Basically, he was tryna de-politicize the whole school scene, allegedly.

But the community was NOT having it. People were out here rallying and protesting outside the school board meetings. Like, they were not gonna let this one slide. Turns out a lot of people are ride or die for the Pride and Progress flags.

And it's not just the students and community either. Patrick Etmanski, who's the president of the Ontario English Catholic Teachers Association’s Waterloo Region chapter, straight up said that teachers support the students and the Pride flag. Talk about having their backs!

So, what happened? The vote went down, and the motion failed. Like, a whole L. It was 5-4 against the ban. So the flags are staying, and Waterloo Catholic schools can keep repping all the vibes. W!
