Okay, fam, listen up. There's a vigil happening on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Parc de Mille Fleur in Longueuil for Nooran Rezayi, a 15-year-old who was fatally shot by Longueuil police. The Association de la Sépulture Musulmane au Québec (ASMQ) is putting it together.

The goal is to show love to the family and call out what the ASMQ is saying is straight-up wrong. They're not playing, and they're trying to rally the troops to give support to the victim's family.

But that's not all. There's also gonna be a peaceful protest on Sunday in Brossard. People are trying to get their voices heard, period.

Now, here's where it gets a little sus. The Longueuil police (SPAL) are saying they've heard some whispers about potential beef with the police during these events. So, they're on high alert, lowkey worried things could escalate.

Quebec Public Security Minister Ian Lafrenière is also stressing about the rising tension after Rezayi's death. He's basically saying everyone needs to take a chill pill and not do anything rash. He said, "Can we all just vibe and find inner peace, for real"

ICYMI, Rezayi was shot and killed by a Longueuil police officer after a 9-1-1 call about a group of people allegedly strapped. Things escalated during the intervention on Sunday afternoon. It's tragic all around.

The whole situation is now under investigation by Quebec’s police watchdog, the Bureau des enquêtes indépendantes (BEI). Montreal police (SPVM) are also doing their own investigation on the side.
