Dragon Boat Fest is Gonna Be a Vibe
Okay, so Vancouver's False Creek is where it's at, fam! The Concord Pacific Dragon Boat Festival is hitting hard from June 20th to 22nd, 2025. We're talking dragon boat races going OFF between Cambie Street Bridge and Science World. Races start at 8 AM and run 'til 8 PM both Saturday and Sunday, with boats flyin' every 10 minutes - no cap!
This ain't just a local thing either; teams from all over Canada and like, 10 other countries are rollin' up to compete. It's also the 30th birthday of the first breast cancer survivor dragon boat team, major respect!
But wait, there's more! Live music? Check. Craft fair? Check. Food trucks? Double-check. Cultural pavilions? You know it! Concord Pacific Place is gonna be bussin' with performances by Lights, Felix Cartal, The Kuyas, Royal Oak, Nikkaela, Eagle Song Dancers, Cindy Yang Dance Academy, and Children of Takaya. Kits Pool is Back, Baby!
Also, quick update: Kitsilano Pool is gonna be splashin' into summer 2025 on June 21st! It's been around the block (over 50 years!), so it has had some "pool infrastructure issues" in the past - lowkey sus. Last year was kinda touch-and-go. But now, you can get your swim on.
Word to the wise: snag a reservation if you can, tho it's not a must. They're letting in some walk-ins but no promises you'll get a spot. Peep the City's webpage for the pool for all the deets on hours and reservations!
