Vancouver Fest Tragedy: Dude Gets Mental Check 🧠

Alright, fam, listen up 'cause this is serious. So, there was this Filipino heritage festival in Vancouver, right? And some dude, Kai-Ji Adam Lo, allegedly decided to drive his SUV straight through the crowd. I know, it's messed up. Like, 11 people are gone because of it, and dozens more are hurt. It's a whole tragedy, no cap.

The dude, who's 30, showed up in court via video link, looking sus. He's facing eight counts of second-degree murder. But here's the tea: the judge was like, "Hold up, we need to get this guy a mental health assessment." Basically, they're trying to figure out if he's even mentally stable enough to understand what's going on and stand trial. His next court date is May 30th, but his lawyer wants to bump that up, so stay tuned.

The B.C. government declared a day of mourning, and the Premier and Mayor dropped statements sending love and support to everyone affected. It's a tough time, but hopefully, justice will be served, and the families can find some peace.

There's also low key news he had been hospitalized a couple times in the past two years for his mental health and was under supervision. Before the attack, he contacted police with a lot of complaints. More charges are probably coming for him later on, and that there are still a lot of people still in hospital, including a toddler.
