Trippy Tri-Eye Sea Moth Just Dropped from 506 Million Years Ago 👽

OK, listen up, 'cause this is wild. Scientists just found a fossil from way back when – like, 506 million years ago. They're calling it Mosura fentoni, but peep this: it's basically a prehistoric sea moth with, get this, three eyes! 🤯

This lil' dude was about the size of your index finger and rocked some seriously spiky claws. Plus, it had this ring-shaped mouth with teeth – talk about a nightmare! But wait, there's more! It also had, like, swimming flaps and a whole segmented situation going on in the back with gills. This thing was a whole vibe.

Turns out, Mosura is part of this extinct group called radiodonts, which is basically the VIP crew of ancient sea predators. And the fact that they found its insides still intact – like, the nervous system, circulatory system and digestive system – is a major flex. They said that it had an open circulatory system, with blood pumped into large internal cavities. We’re talking major key to understanding how these creatures evolved.

They mostly found the fossils at the Raymond Quarry in Yoho National Park in Canada. Shoutout to Parks Canada for supporting the research and also educating the public. They are showcasing the fossil at the Manitoba Museum for all the girlies to see.

So yeah, a big W for the scientists. A new fossil means new tea about prehistoric times.
