The Deets
Okay, fam, this is heavy. Over in North Vancouver, at Cates Park, a speedboat and an inflatable tube had a major collision around 6:30 p.m. Two kids were just tryna vibe on the water, being towed in an inflatable, when outta nowhere, a speedboat allegedly crashed into them.
Tragically, one of the kids passed away at the scene. The other was airlifted to the hospital and is currently in critical condition. Sending all the good vibes and prayers their way, hoping they pull through. 🙏
The operator of the speedboat is currently in custody. The RCMP are investigating the sitch, trying to piece together what happened. Word is alcohol and speed might have been factors. If that's the case, that's a whole different level of messed up.
Major props to all the first responders who showed up – North Vancouver RCMP, B.C. Emergency Health Services, the Canadian Coast Guard, and Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue. They were all on the scene doing their best to help. Victim services are also providing support to the family during this incredibly tough time.
