TL:DR

Bruh, Mstari, the endangered Masai giraffe at the Toronto Zoo, is preggo! She's like, halfway there and gonna drop a baby giraffe late winter/early spring 2026. It's a whole vibe for conservation, especially 'cause these giraffes are endangered. She's expecting with Kiko!

Spilling the Tea

Okay, fam, listen up! The Toronto Zoo is about to have a major glow-up 'cause Mstari, this 11.5-year-old Masai giraffe, is expecting! She's carrying precious cargo after getting together with Kiko.

She's already six months in, and they're predicting the baby giraffe will arrive late winter to early spring 2026. This is kinda a big deal because Masai giraffes are endangered. Like, less than 35,000 left in the wild. Big oof. They got marked as endangered back in 2018.

Mstari had a baby before, Matu, back in 2022, but things went south in the summer. The zoo is doing everything they can to make sure this goes smoothly. Wildlife Care staff were lowkey collecting Mstari's deets three times a week before matching her with Kiko, and the Reproductive Science team gave the green light for pregnancy.

It's all part of a breeding program to try and keep these awesome creatures from disappearing forever. So, yeah, good news for the giraffes! Let's hope everything goes smoothly for Mstari and her little one!
