Okay, fam, this is heavy. The church in Thunderchild First Nation straight up went up in flames on September 1, 2025. Like, poof, gone. 😭

The peeps in the community, especially the co-pastors Alvina and Fred Thunderchild, are hella bummed. They'd just copped the spot from the Roman Catholic Church and were almost done with the glow-up – new kitchen, washroom, fresh paint, the whole shebang. Now it's all ash. Talk about a major L. 🤦‍♀️

Word is, someone might've broken in and tried to swipe some stuff before the fire started. RCMP's all over it, tryna figure out what really happened. The fire department battled the blaze for like four hours, which is a whole mood in itself. 🚒

Two Saskatchewan MPs are calling cap on the fire, saying it might be a hate crime targeting places of worship. Apparently, a similar thing happened in Loon Lake not too long ago, and that turned out to be arson. Sketchy af. 🤔

But the Thunderchild crew ain't backing down. They're already plotting a new worship spot and are dead set on rebuilding the church. They're getting love and support from all over, even as far as the U.S. and Nepal. Mad respect. 🙌
