Sus Trafficking Case in Sask: MLA Lowkey Clutch 💯

Okay, fam, so there's this whole sitch going down in Saskatchewan. These two guys, Sohel Haider and Mohammad Masum, are getting cooked in court for allegedly trafficking a woman from Bangladesh. We can't say her name 'cause, you know, legal reasons.

Apparently, they were forcing her to grind at their restaurants in these random towns for, like, pennies. And on top of that, Masum is being accused of some seriously sus stuff - sexual assault. Like, that's a whole other level of messed up.

The woman testified that she was promised a bag and a place to crash, but then they were all like, "Nah, hand over your debit card and PIN, bestie." Red flags everywhere, right?

But here's where it gets a little less bleak. This former MLA, Hugh Nerlien, he was clued in by another MLA, Doug Steele, who thought something was def sus about the whole thing. So Nerlien, being the real MVP, slipped the woman a secret note with contacts for resources and an immigration person. Talk about a lowkey hero move!

Nerlien said the woman seemed super on edge, like she was holding back tears. The trial's still going on, so we'll keep you posted on how this whole thing shakes out.
