The Deets

Okay, fam, so the RCMP been digging into some messed-up stuff that allegedly went down at the Nova Scotia Youth Centre in Waterville. We're talking way back between '88 and 2017. The operation, called Operation Headwind, been going on since 2019. Like, they're dropping charges today. This ain't a drill.

Apparently, there are at least 70 cases they're looking at and it all involves male victims. They interviewed people all across Canada to get the tea. A confidential hotline was set up, and like 200 people were expected to spill their guts. They haven't said who the alleged perp is yet, which is kinda sus.

In other news, the Mayor of Ottawa is out here making big promises to end youth homelessness by 2030. Sounds kinda like cap, but okay. He's talking investments and measures, starting in 2026. Claims the city already dropped $82 million on affordable housing since 2022 and is gonna hit over $100 million soon. They're tryna hit the root causes of homelessness too.

The Mayor's gonna do a race and support a "hackathon" to cook up some solutions. According to him, there are like 50 to 100 young people in the capital straight-up homeless rn. The goal is to make those rough times rare, short, and never happening again. Let's hope they can actually make a change, fr fr.
