The Deets

Okay, so boom. Yesterday, May 17, 2025, Ottawa was gettin' hit with a major thunderstorm. Like, the sky was doin' the most. Then, this Ottawa resident, Kim Fleet, was all, "Hold up, is that a tornado?" and whipped out her phone. She caught this cloud looking real sus near Aviation Parkway and Montreal Road. The time stamp was around 6:15 p.m., for anyone keeping tabs.

Kim was trippin' 'cause the cloud was movin' all kinds of ways. She was like, "Nah, that ain't right." Smart move catching that on camera.

The Northern Tornadoes Project (NTP) at Western University saw the pics and vids, and they're on the case. But, here's the tea: as of right now, they ain't got no reports of any damage. So, maybe it was just a cloud playin' games?

Environment Canada was on it too, droppin' warnings about the storm. We're talkin' winds up to 90 km/h, hail, and rain pourin' down. Basically, Mother Nature was not messin' around. But, good news, the warning got lifted, so things are chill now... for now.

Also, Hydro Ottawa is reporting no power outages, which is a total W. So, all in all, Ottawa dodged a bullet. Keep your eyes on the sky, y'all!
