Sus Alert: Dude from Dartmouth Catfished a 10-Year-Old 🚩

Okay, fam, listen up 'cause this is wild. So, there's this 42-year-old dude from Dartmouth, N.S., who's in deep doo-doo. Apparently, he was chatting online with a 10-year-old American girl, but here's the 🚩: he was pretending to be a 15-year-old boy. Straight-up catfishing, no cap.

The tea is that they were talking about some inappropriate stuff, and he was even sending her handwritten letters and gifts. Like, who does that?! The U.S. National Center for Missing and Exploited Children caught wind of it and snitched, which is how this whole investigation started.

Fast forward to June 5th, the cops rolled up to his crib in Dartmouth with a search warrant. They seized a bunch of electronic devices and firearms, and then they arrested the dude, who's been identified as John Aaron Shute. He's now facing charges for luring a minor, making and possessing child pornography, and some firearms stuff. Major L.

The Halifax Integrated Child Exploitation Unit is teaming up with the Lakeshore Regional Child Advocacy Center in Wisconsin to get to the bottom of this. And the cops are urging everyone to be on the lookout and report anything sus. Remember, in Nova Scotia, you HAVE to report suspected child pornography. It's the law, fam.
