The Deets
So, boom, here's the tea. Last Thursday evening, right before 9:30 p.m., this person was driving on Highway 15 near Back Street, north of Lyndhurst Road, when they saw a dark-colored Nissan Rogue looking all kinds of stranded. Being a decent human, they pulled over to lend a hand. Big mistake, HUGE.
Out of nowhere, two sus individuals rolled up. Suspect number one is described as a white dude in his 40s, rocking a brown beard and a black and blue plaid jacket. And get this β he was packing heat! He allegedly pulled out a firearm and demanded the victim's money. Suspect number two? A white woman, also in her 40s, blonde hair, decked out in a black jacket. They dipped southbound on Highway 15 after snatching the cash. The victim caught a glimpse of a partial Ontario license plate starting with B-E-C.
The OPP (Ontario Provincial Police) are all over this case, trying to track down these bandits. They're asking everyone to keep their eyes peeled. If you spot these sus individuals or their ride, DO NOT approach them. Instead, dial 9-1-1 ASAP. If you have any info or dashcam footage that could help, hit up the Leeds County OPP or Crime Stoppers.
And peep this advice from the OPP: Before you go playing the hero and stopping to help, be aware of your surroundings. It's a cold world out there, fam. If you see a stranded vehicle, maybe call the OPP's non-emergency number and let them handle it. Better safe than sorry, ya feel?
