Sask. Got that Measles Mess, and Vax Rates are Kinda Sus 😬

Aight, listen up. Saskatchewan is straight-up vibing with a measles outbreak, and it's not the kinda vibe you want. Since mid-March, they've got 37 confirmed cases. The main tea? Like 95% of the people who caught it weren't even vaxxed. Big yikes.

And it gets worse, 70% of the cases are hittin' preschool and school-aged kids the hardest. That's a major L for everyone. Most of the new cases are poppin' up in the central-west and central-east zones. Four people had to get yeeted to the hospital cuz things got too real. One even needed ICU.

Docs are saying this ain't it, especially since Canada yeeted local measles transmission back in '98. Now they're tracing it back to travel within Canada, especially Alberta, and even trips down to the U.S. and northern Mexico. It’s giving global pandemic flashbacks, and nobody wants that.

So, how do you know if you're cooked? If you're running a fever, got the red eye effect, and your nose is doing the Niagara Falls thing, isolate ASAP. Peep if you start rockin' a rash behind your ears too. That’s sus.

The only way to stop this from spiraling? Vax up, bestie! The doc straight up said a high vax rate is the only way to shut this down. If you're a baby (under one year), preggo (unvaxxed), or your immune system is MIA, you're extra at risk for the serious complications. One person still caught it even after two doses, and two caught it after only one dose. It's all sus.

Exposure alerts have been issued for spots across the province. And get this, as of late April 2025, Canada had over 1500 measles cases. So, like, get your shots, wear a mask, and let’s low-key get this contained.
