Okay, fam, this is kinda heavy. Remember that Quebec hiker, Leo Dufour? He went missing in the Adirondack Mountains in New York State like, way back on November 30th, 2024, after tryna hit up Allen Mountain for a day hike. Well, they finally found his body. 💔
The search was a whole struggle. The snow was acting up, so they had to pause it for a bit. But as soon as spring rolled around, they were back at it, searching high and low. Turns out, some hikers stumbled upon his remains off the Allen Mountain trail in Essex County on May 10th. Major props to the New York State authorities for confirming it was him. 💯
Leo was only 22, from Vaudreuil, Quebec. He was out there tryna conquer all 46 Adirondack High Peaks. He already bagged 32 of them. No cap, that's impressive. He was a student at Université de Montréal and seemed to love hiking, camping, and travel, based on his socials. Even though he was geared up for the winter conditions, Allen Mountain requires an 18-mile round-trip hike. This is a tough L for his fam and everyone who knew him. Rest in peace, king. 🙏
