The Deets
Okay, fam, listen up. This is kinda a sad one. Remember that black bear cub, Sayen, that got rescued from the wildfires raging near Lac du Bonnet? Yeah, she, uh, she didn't make it. 😭
She was only like, three months old and weighed about 7 lbs. Poor thing had burns all over her feet and face, and her fur was singed. Plus, she was coughing from all that smoke inhalation. Black Bear Rescue Manitoba (BBRM) swooped in to save her, giving her salves and painkillers, trying to heal her up.
But, like, the operations manager at BBRM thinks the smoke messed up her lungs so bad that she couldn't recover. It's a major bummer. 💔
And here's the tea: The operations manager is stressing about other baby bears out there who might be orphaned because of these wildfires. Apparently, the lil' guys can't always keep up when their mamas are running from the flames. So, if you're in Manitoba and you see a cub looking lost or hurt, hit up Manitoba Conservation ASAP. They're on standby to help.
