Yo, Ottawa's finest are not looking so fine rn. Turns out, a bunch of police employees been getting popped by those photo radar cameras and red-light cameras. Like, a LOT.
Between July and September, there were 144 internal complaints about officers caught speeding and 43 complaints about police whips running red lights. That's kinda sus, tbh.
For the summer of '24, Ottawa police vehicles racked up 180 speeding tickets from automated speed enforcement cameras and 31 tickets for blowing through red lights. But wait, it gets worse...
In '25, they already got 314 tickets for speeding and 84 for red-light violations. Sheesh! In 2024 overall, the Ottawa PD received 570 speeding tickets and 100 red-light tickets!
Apparently, the increase in complaints is 'cause Ottawa's got 60 photo radar cameras and 85 red-light cameras all over the place. More cameras, more chances to get caught slippin', ya feel?
