Okay, besties, get this. Canada's political scene just went through a SERIOUS glow-up. Like, Pierre Poilievre, head honcho of the Conservative Party, just LOST HIS SEAT. I know, right? Dude's been holding it down since '05, so this is HUGE.

And the tea doesn't stop there! Mark Carney and the Liberals are projected to snatch the win and form a majority government. Bye, Trudeau! Apparently, he stepped down and now Carney's the new Prime Minister. Canada is not playing!

So, why the L for Poilievre? Sources say it's a whole mix of factors. First off, the return of Donald Trump to the political stage, like ew. Plus, Poilievre got some serious side-eye for stanning Trump in the past (major cringe). Then there's some local drama with a protest group that might have split the vote. Messy, messy, messy.

AND it doesn't stop there: NDP leader Jagmeet Singh also lost his seat and is stepping down! This is a whole new Canada era, folks!

Even with Poilievre's L, the Conservatives are still expected to be the Official Opposition. Both the Conservatives and Liberals gained more votes compared to the last election, so it's not all bad news for them.

Word is, Poilievre was out here campaigning with a "Canada First" vibe, but with Trump being, well, Trump, and going after Canada's economy and even hinting at taking over, it kinda backfired. Canadian nationalism went into overdrive and boosted the Liberals.

Advance voting was at record levels! Early voting strategy is the meta now, and people might vote without full party platforms!

Also, this election was "deeply gendered" with mostly men as party leaders. There's conversation around gender and diversity representation.

Apparently young, working-class men are leaning Conservative because they're stressed about social change, housing, and jobs, while women are more likely to be Liberal or NDP.
