Alright, listen up, because this is kinda a big deal. Rebecca Chartrand (Liberal Party) just won the Churchill-Keewatinook Aski riding, booting Niki Ashton (NDP) out. Ashton had been repping the area since 2008, so this is a whole new era, bestie.
There were other players in the game too, like Lachlan De Nardi (Conservative) and Dylan Young (People’s Party), but Chartrand came out on top. Back in 2021, Ashton won with 42.6% of the vote, so this is a major glow-up for the Liberal Party.
Churchill-Keewatinook Aski is a super old riding, created back in 1933. It covers all of Northern Manitoba, including places like Churchill, Thompson, Flin Flon, and a whole bunch of First Nations communities.
