The Deets

Okay, so boom. If you're a parent in Northern Ontario and you're low-key stressing about talking to your kids about drugs, alcohol, and all that, there's an event just for you. It's called "A Strong Start: Navigating Stress, Coping and Substance Use in Youth," and it's gonna be lit.

They're bringing in national experts to drop some knowledge, plus they're gonna give you the tools you need to have these tough convos. And the best part? It's free! We talking free childcare, free dinner, and even some door prizes. Sounds like a whole vibe, TBH.

Word on the street is, they did a survey of local students in 2023, and the results were kinda sus. A lot of kids tried alcohol by 13, and a bunch of them were straight-up drunk in the last month. Plus, vaping is apparently a whole thing. So, yeah, it's important to get ahead of this and talk to your kids early.

The first event is gonna be in Kirkland Lake on May 27th. Then they're hitting up Englehart on May 28th and Temiskaming Shores on May 29th. You gotta register in advance, tho. Don't sleep on this, parents! It's time to get real with your kids, no cap.
