Back on April 20, 2022, he decided to pour gasoline through the mail slot of a Ukrainian family's house on Caledonia Avenue and set it ablaze. Like, WTF?

The fam – all five of them, including a child – were inside! They managed to bail, but not before one of the daughters sustained potentially life-threatening injuries. The house, which was actually a heritage building, is now uninhabitable. We're talking major damage, fam. Think $400,000 - $500,000. Straight up gone.

The Victoria Police Department's Major Crime Unit rolled up and started piecing together what happened. They checked CCTV footage, did a bunch of interviews, and gathered forensic evidence. Turns out, they found Machinski and arrested him on April 5, 2023.

Here's the plot twist: the cops are saying this wasn't some random hate crime against Ukrainians. Apparently, Machinski knew the family, who's home was attached to St. Nicholas Ukrainian Church.
