Massive L in Vancouver: Car Yeeted Into Crowd at Filipino Fest 💀

Okay, so here's the tea: This weekend, the Lapu Lapu Day festival in Vancouver, a whole vibe celebrating Filipino culture, turned into a whole mess. Some 30-year-old dude from Vancouver decided to turn his car into a weapon and drove straight into the crowd. Like, WTF?

The aftermath is just... a major L. At least nine people are gone, including a kid, which is just heartbreaking. And like, a ton of other people are seriously injured, some trapped under the cars, according to witnesses. People were screaming, running – a total nightmare scenario, no cap. A food truck owner that was on the seen said his customers had a really bad experience.

The Vancouver PD is on the case, hard. They already got the dude in custody, but they're still piecing together why he did this. They're saying it wasn't terrorism, which is... something, I guess? But still, this is messed up. They have a 24-hour assistance centre for people to find family members, victim service professionals, mental health lines and crisis lines. So hopefully people can get some help.

Even the big dogs are weighing in. Prime Minister Mark Carney, Philippines President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr., and Vancouver Mayor Ken Sim all hit up social media to send their condolences. It's a bad situation, so def send some love to the Vancouver fam right now.

It’s worth noting that this is the second time something of this nature has happened, with a similar incident in Toronto in 2018, where a van was used to kill pedestrians. Hopefully this is the last time.
