Like, Black patients are chilling for an average of 3.9 hours, and Indigenous patients are stuck for about 3.2 hours. Meanwhile, the average wait time for everyone else is 3.4 hours. That's kinda sus, right?

But wait, it gets worse. Apparently, 16.7% of Indigenous patients and 14.7% of Black patients are straight up dipping from the ER without even seeing a doctor. The provincial average is 12%, but the national average is only 8%! That's a major L.

So, what's the tea? Shared Health dropped a whole report on systemic racism in Manitoba's healthcare system. Turns out, racism is impacting patient outcomes and even burning out the staff. Health officials are admitting it's a problem, and they're tryna figure out how to fix it.
