Missing man in central B.C. wilderness found alive after more than a week. Okay, so get this: dude went missing in the middle of nowhere in BC for over a week. Everyone thought it was GG, but nah, he built a shelter and drank pond water like a total pro. He got found and is all good now. Major W.

The Deets

Aight, so listen up. This dude, Andrew Barber, 39, dipped into the BC wilderness on July 28 and then just... disappeared. Like, poof. Everyone was stressing, thinking it was a wrap. But plot twist!

Turns out, his truck was spotted by a helicopter vibing on a forest service road. Search and rescue rolled up and found him chilling near a shelter he built. Can you even?! He was in kinda rough shape, dehydrated AF, but he was alive! They took him to Cariboo Memorial Hospital, gave him the IV drip treatment, and now he's back with his fam. Huge W.

How did he survive? This is the wild part. Dude was out there living his best survivalist life. Sipping pond water, building shelters near a rock, and even writing "SOS" in the mud. Savage! His whip broke down, so he was basically MacGyver-ing it out there. Search and rescue teams were scouring hundreds of kilometers of backcountry tryna find him, but he was out here doing the most. Mad respect.

Quesnel Search and Rescue president said you should always bring a charged cellphone or a satellite connector when going into the wilderness! Like, duh.
