Yo, real talk. Last year, on March 28th, things went south near Evans Park in Duncan. An RCMP officer, like, went full send on a dude named Davin Cochrane, putting two slugs in his head. Turns out, Davin was just out here living his best life, operating a skid-steer, when chaos ensued.

Now, the Independent Investigations Office (IIO) did their homework, and they're throwing some major shade at the officer. They think there's a solid chance the officer messed up big time, like, committed a crime with that firearm. So, they're kicking it over to the B.C. Prosecution Service, who gotta decide if they're gonna press charges. They need to decide if they can for sure convict him and if it makes sense to even bring it to court.

But here's the tea: Davin Cochrane ain't doing so hot. He's got some serious injuries that are gonna stick with him for life, plus emotional trauma. Bullet fragments still chillin' in his brain and body. He's doing all the physical therapy and counseling, tryna get back to normal, but it's a whole process.

And that's not all! Davin is like "nah, I'm good" and has a pending civil lawsuit against two RCMP officers, the big boss RCMP, and some government peeps. BC RCMP dipped when someone asked about the officers' duty status. This situation is straight up messy.
