Aight, listen up. This 29-year-old dude, Harshkumar Ramanlal Patel – peep the nickname 'Dirty Harry' – got handed a fat L by a US District Court in Minnesota. Ten years and one month, to be exact. What for, you ask? He was deep in an international human smuggling operation back in 2022.

Basically, he was moving migrants from India into the US through Canada, which is already sus. He and some other dude were raking in the dough, like $100,000. But here's where it gets mad dark.

This whole situation is tied to the death of this Patel family – Jagdish, Vaishaliben, and their two kids. They were tryna cross the border in January 2022 and froze to death. Fr fr, they were caught in a blizzard with temps so low, and these smugglers didn't care one bit.

Steve Anthony Shand, another dude involved, got six and a half years. After Patel does his time, he's getting deported, so bye-bye to the US.

The whole investigation was a team effort by Homeland Security, Customs and Border Protection, the Justice Department, and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Migration was also a topic when India and the US were chopping it up the other day.

US attorney Cole Finegan said that Patel prioritized money over the wellbeing of people, and that Patel will be held responsible for his crime and that they will pursue anyone who put profit over the lives of people.
