Okay, so listen up. Highway 97 south of Fort Nelson is a no-go zone right now. Why? 'Cause there are MAD wildfires straight-up roasting northeastern B.C.

We're talking about three major wildfires that are causing all this chaos:

Summit Lake Wildfire: This thing is HUGE, clocking in at around 19,081 hectares. It's burning on both sides of Highway 97, like 100 kilometers west of Fort Nelson.
Pocket Knife Creek Wildfire: Even bigger, tbh. This one's about 61,050 hectares and burning along Highway 97, like 150 kilometers south of Fort Nelson. This is the reason the highway's closed for like 161.9 kilometers.
Kiskatinaw River Wildfire: This bad boy is around 21,679 hectares and chilling about 65 kilometers south of Dawson Creek. And get this – it's so wild, it's crossed over into Alberta!

For real though, this is serious. There are 10 active evacuation orders in northeastern B.C., which means about 120 households had to bounce. Plus, there are five evacuation alerts, so people better be ready to dip if things get worse. The next update is dropping Tuesday, June 10, at 8 a.m., so keep your eyes peeled.
