Alright, listen up, cause this is important. Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph is straight up dealing with a measles outbreak. Like, it's gotten so real that provincial officials have officially named the area a "risk area". That's not a vibe.

What does this mean for you? Basically, if you're a parent or guardian, you might wanna think about getting your kids vaxxed against measles sooner rather than later. They're saying kids six months and older can get their first dose now. Even if they get a dose early, they still need two doses after their first bday. You can get the second dose like, 4 weeks after the first. So keep that in mind.

Now, for the symptoms, so you know what to look out for: we're talking fever, runny nose, cough, red and watery eyes. But also, look for small white spots inside your mouth, and a red blotchy rash. Diarrhea, ear infections and pneumonia can also be signs. If you think you've been exposed, stay home, and hit up your doctor *before* you go in, so they don't spread it around.

Here's the tea: this isn't the first time they've recommended early vax, especially for ppl traveling to places where measles is more common. As of Wednesday morning, there were 63 confirmed or probable cases of measles in Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph. Other Public Health Units are getting the word out and giving early doses too. Waterloo Region just updated a list of places that are potential exposure sites.

Bottom line: check your vax status, stay safe, and spread the word. No one wants to deal with the measles.
