Police in Sudbury, teaming up with the OPP, just dropped the hammer on some GTA street gangs that were allegedly running a drug pipeline up to northeastern Ontario. They've been investigating this for like, a year and a half – they called it "Project Saturate."
The haul is insane. We're talking over $1.9 million worth of drugs, including fentanyl (that's the scary stuff), cocaine, meth, and even some oxy pills. They also snagged four firearms, stacks of Canadian and U.S. dollars, phones, laptops, and even a car and a boat. Straight up, a whole stash of illegal stuff.
25 people are facing a total of 197 charges, mostly for drug trafficking. Sixteen of them are from the GTA and Hamilton area. They even raided places in Sudbury, Mississauga, Hamilton, Richmond Hill, Pickering, and Toronto. Talk about a widespread operation!
