Aight, listen up, fam! The Ubuntu Grannies are hosting their annual spring event on June 6, 2025, from 7 to 9 p.m. at St. John's United Church. The whole point of this bussin' event is to raise money for grandmas in Africa who are raising kids whose parents died from AIDS. It's all part of the Stephen Lewis Foundation's Grandmothers campaign. Real talk, these grannies are doing the most.

For just $20, you get to see a fashion show featuring pieces from Rosebank Boutique, sip on some tea, and chow down on homemade desserts. Like, what's not to love? Plus, you'll be supporting a cause that's actually important, no cap. Kayleigh Bogart, a professional model and international development student, will be walking in the show.

In other news, Fatu M. Kaba is bringing TEDx to Halifax with TEDxArgyle on August 9th at the Light House Arts Centre. She's a survivor and a mental health advocate. Kaba wants to amplify the city's unheard stories with inclusivity, empathy, and impact. So, mark your calendars, y'all! August 9, 2025, from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm, be there or be square! They will arrange the seating style at tables for four to encourage conversation and interaction among attendees. Rosebank Boutique's family members will be at the event.
