The Real Deal

Okay, so listen up, this is heavy. Last Wednesday, things went sideways near the BC Ferries terminal in Horseshoe Bay. A transit bus straight-up yeeted onto the sidewalk at Keith Road and Bay Street and took out a whole family. A four-year-old didn't make it, rest in peace. His mom is in critical condition. A family friend also got clapped but is stable now.

The family, who are Canadian citizens but originally from Brazil, were just living their lives, ya know? Turns out the parents really wanted a kid and finally had their little dude in 2020. Big sad.

But peep this: the internet is doing its thing. A GoFundMe went live to help the fam with all the stuff they gotta deal with now – funeral costs for the little one, medical bills for the mom, and just generally helping the dad and everyone else affected to stay afloat. The goal was $25K, but the internet fr fr raised over $4K more than the goal by Sunday at 2 p.m. Faith in humanity restored a lil bit, ya feel?

Cops are on the case, tryna figure out exactly what went down. They seized the bus to check it out, but they don't think speed was the main culprit. One witness said it was total chaos and the bus driver looked shook. An ex-bus driver thinks it might have been driver error, but the union ain't saying anything 'til they know more.
