Okay, so get this. Some pollsters did a whole survey thingy, and the results are kinda wild. Like, apparently 28% of Canadians are out here thinking that Jewish people are "to blame for any acts of prejudice they face." I'm just saying what the streets are saying. 😬
But like, don't freak out too much, cause 72% of Canadians were straight up disagreeing with that take. So most people ain't vibing with that energy.
Location-wise, Quebec was the most sus, with 36% agreeing. Alberta was the least sus, sitting at 21%. And peep this: the dudes were more likely to agree with that statement than the girls. And the young bloods (18-34) were more on board than the elder millennials and Gen X-ers (45+).
Now, this poll was taken while the Israel-Hamas war is still a whole thing, so the researcher is suggesting that this might be a result of seeing all that victim-blaming going on online since October 7th. For comparison, they did the same poll in the US, and only 17% of Americans agreed with the statement, with 60% disagreeing. So, Canada's looking kinda different on this one.
The poll went down between August 29 and 31, and they hit up 1,627 Canadians and 1,014 Americans. So, it's a whole legit thing.
