Alright, fam, listen up 'cause this is wild. This dude, Randall Hopley, big yikes energy, was chilling in Mission Institution, right? Well, they let him out, but here's the tea: he was supposed to head straight to a halfway house in Vancouver. Sounds chill, yeah? Nah. He basically told his parole officer, "Nah, I'm good," and bounced. No cap.
So, obviously, that's a major L. They dropped a Canada-wide warrant faster than you can say "sus," and the Vancouver PD snatched him back up. He's currently back in custody. Again. 🙄
But wait, it gets worse! Last May, he already got 29 months for breaking the rules of his long-term supervision order. Turns out, this isn't even the first time he's pulled this kinda stunt. Back in November 2023, he ripped off his ankle monitor and went ghost. Before that, he got nicked for creeping around a library and getting too close to kids. Major red flags all around. 🚩🚩🚩
Oh, and did I mention he was the one who snatched that three-year-old kid back in 2011? Yeah, him. He did his time, got out with a long-term supervision order, and now he's back to his old tricks.
The Premier of British Columbia is straight-up fuming about this. Apparently, the Correctional Service of Canada didn't even bother to give them a heads-up that Hopley was being released. The Premier basically said this whole situation is testing people's trust in the justice system. Like, duh. 🙄
So yeah, that's the sitch. Sketchy dude does sketchy things, gets caught, rinse and repeat. Hopefully, they keep him locked up this time, for real. 🙏
