Okay, so three young Indigenous women – Tatyanna, Noelle, and Chelsea – passed away in Metro Van, and their families are BIG mad. They feel like the police and other officials ain't doing enough to figure out what happened. Like, straight up stonewalling. They're demanding answers, and things are getting heated. It's giving major sus vibes all around.

The Real Tea

Listen up, fam. This is important. Three young Indigenous women – Tatyanna Harrison, Noelle O’Soup, and Chelsea Poorman – are no longer with us, and their families are going THROUGH it. They're fighting mad because they feel like they're getting the cold shoulder from the police, the coroners, and even the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD). They want to know what happened to their loved ones, but they're hitting brick walls, no cap.

The families are saying the investigations are sus. They're claiming they've had to do their own sleuthing, find their own leads, and then hand it over to the cops. Like, hello? Isn't that the police's job? It's giving "major neglect" vibes, and they're not having it.

Things get even messier with Tatyanna. The BC Coroners Service first said she died from fentanyl. Then they switched it up and said sepsis. But hold up! An independent doctor looked at the evidence and said, "Nah, fam, that ain't right." They're saying the cause of death should be undetermined. And get this: the family had to FIGHT to even get a rape kit done, and those samples? Still haven't been processed by the RCMP. Like, what is going on?!

Now, the families are banding together, demanding a coroner's inquest into all three deaths. They need answers, and they need the public to have faith in the system again. One of O'Soup's family members is even saying that she was failed by the government and the child welfare system. Ouch. The police don't think Poorman and Harrison's deaths were suspicious, but the family is still tryna get more answers.

They brought this up on Red Dress Day, and this is hitting on systemic failures to protect Indigenous women and girls, and that's not okay. This is about addressing historical wrongs and keeping the system accountable. No more gatekeeping. Fam are straight up trying to get Freedom of Information requests and they're getting stonewalled because of the "ongoing nature of police investigations." Even if it's not an active prosecution, they think they should be getting information to start bringing this to a close.

Chelsea Poorman's and Noelle O'Soup's cases are still open, but their families are still looking for leads. They've chosen this day to make sure they're not forgotten.
