The Deets

Okay, fam, listen up. This is kinda wild. So, the G7 Summit was going down in Kananaskis, right? Big deal, world leaders, blah blah blah. But then, out of nowhere, some civilian plane just strolls into the restricted airspace. Like, were they even paying attention? 🙄

NORAD wasn't having it. They yeeted some CF-18 Hornet fighter jets into the sky faster than you can say "aviation fail." Apparently, they tried to hit up the pilot on the radio, but got ghosted. Total silence. That's when things got real spicy 🔥.

They had to pull out the big guns – final warning measures and all that jazz. Eventually, the pilot got the message and landed the plane safe and sound. But the damage was done. Now the RCMP and everyone else in charge of security are stressing HARD. They're all like, "This is a major L! Pay attention to the flight restrictions, people!"

Speaking of flight restrictions, they're still in effect until June 17th at 11:59 p.m. over Calgary and Kananaskis. So, if you were planning on buzzing around in your Cessna, think again. The zones to avoid are CYR 292 (30 nautical miles around Kananaskis Village) and CYR 293 (20 nautical miles around Calgary International Airport). Don't be a menace.🚫
