Okay, so this is heavy. A dad from Calgary, Yuji Hu, 39, just straight-up passed away trying to save his 5-year-old daughter from a HUGE wave at Garrapata State Beach in Cali. Mom tried to help too, but only made it back with the 2 year old. The daughter is still MIA 😭. Vibe is so not it right now.

The Deets

This is some seriously sad stuff, fam. So, the fam was chilling at Garrapata State Beach in California. Then, out of nowhere, a massive wave yeeted the 5-year-old daughter into the ocean. Dad, being the realest G, didn't even hesitate. He dove in after her, but they both got pulled out further.

Mom also jumped in to help, but she managed to get back to the shore. Thankfully the toddler wasn't harmed, which is a tiny W. A Good Samaritan and an off-duty parks officer were straight-up heroes, pulling the dad out and trying to revive him with CPR. Both parents got sent to the hospital but sadly the dad didn't make it. The mom is stable now but was dealing with hypothermia. She's okay, but could have been worse.

The 5-year-old? Still missing, y'all. They had a full-on search party with the Coast Guard, the Sheriff, State Parks, the whole shebang. They even had Monterey County Search and Rescue out there. But they had to stop the big search. They still doing foot searches on the shore though. She was rocking a white shirt, so keep your eyes peeled, fr fr.

The family is going through it right now, so they're asking for privacy. Let's send them some good vibes and hope for a miracle. 🙏
