The Tea

Okay, so listen up. A whole squad—two grown-ups and four little humans—decided to explore the woods near the Hole-in-the-Wall Trail. Sounds chill, right? WRONG. They ended up wandering off the main path, like, way off. They were out there bushwhacking through the forest, crossing creeks and stuff.

Luckily, the Alberni Valley Rescue Squad was on it. They brought out the big guns, including their brand new drone team. The drones scoped out the area and found the lost squad. But the terrain was kinda sus, and since there were kids involved, they also sent in a rope team to keep everyone safe while they got 'em outta there.

The AVRS is dropping some knowledge for all you future hikers: Don't be a goofball and get lost. Bring water, snacks, and warm clothes. Use a GPS or download offline maps (because service can be trash in the woods). Stick to the marked trails, and for the love of TikTok, tell someone where you're going and when you plan to be back. You don't wanna end up needing a drone rescue, fr fr.

BTW, the Hole-in-the-Wall Trail is usually an easy 2.4-kilometer loop that takes about 36 minutes. So, like, how do you even get LOST? Just saying. But hey, lesson learned. Stay safe out there, besties!
