Ex-Pastor Gets Cooked for Arson on Ukrainian Priest's Crib 🔥🏠

Okay, so boom. Back in 2022, Walter (Theo) Machinski, who used to be a pastor at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, decided to pull a major L and set fire to the crib of the current priest, Yuriy Vyshnevskyy. The house, located next to the church in Victoria, went up in flames, and it was straight-up chaos. 🔥

Vyshnevskyy's three daughters had to bounce outta the second-story window to escape the heat, and one of them ended up with a serious arm injury that needed surgery. Like, for real. The priest's wife also needed a save from a window ledge. Fam was lowkey traumatized. 🥺

The cops and firefighters rolled up to a whole disaster. The house was majorly cooked – uninhabitable, for real. The Major Crime Unit got on the case, hitting up CCTV footage, asking around, and doing all sorts of forensic stuff. Turns out, Machinski used to hold down the priest gig at the church from '11 to '15 before Vyshnevskyy took over in '16. Sketchy, right? 🤔

The whole thing went down during the Ukraine-Russia war, so at first, people were thinking it was a hate crime. The Ukrainian Canadian Congress even hopped on the case. But after a whole investigation, Machinski pleaded guilty to arson with disregard for human life. No cap, he got sentenced to three and a half years. Justice served? Maybe.
