This whole thing is happening against the backdrop of a major trade beef between the U.S. and Canada, especially after former President Donald Trump dipped out of trade talks and threatened tariffs. Apparently, Trump was so pressed about the ad that he slapped a 10% tariff on Canada.

On top of that, the Bank of Canada dipped its key interest rate to 2.25%. Spicy, right?
