Okay, so listen up, this is kinda messed up. Apparently, some CAF veterans are coming out saying that VAC offered them MAID. Like, when they went in for help, someone suggested they, like, unalive themselves with medical assistance. David Baltzer, who did two tours in Afghanistan, said it happened to him back in 2019. He was like, "Nah, that ain't it, chief."

Another vet, Mark Meincke, who hosts this podcast about trauma recovery, Operation Tango Romeo, thinks this is a bigger problem than just one caseworker being a boomer. He's saying it might be a systemic issue, which is kinda sus, tbh. Meincke also said that most vets don't seek help until they are desperate.

VAC did an investigation and tried to blame it all on one caseworker, but people are saying that's cap. Baltzer thinks VAC needs a whole glow-up, suggesting replacing the civilian caseworkers with other CAF veterans. Like, someone who actually knows what they're going through. This is heavy, fam.
