The Deets
Okay, so Chatham-Kent is doing the most right now. They just dropped this new public art series, and it's all about chainsaw sculptures. Like, we're talking massive wood carvings, fam. πͺ΅
The first one is already live near Rondeau Provincial Park β it's a bunch of turtles in a canoe, sculpted by Mike Winia and the Carver Kings. Itβs kinda wholesome, TBH. The goal is for each sculpture to be a whole mood for the community it's in. π’
This whole thing is being bankrolled by a local program and Hydro One, which is kinda clutch. They're planning at least 15 sculptures, with more on the way. And get this: they're even plotting a Guinness World Record attempt with a sculpture on Highway 401. Talk about extra! π
Mayor Darrin Canniff was like, "These sculptures are gonna bring the arts scene, inspire community pride, and drive tourism!" So basically, they're tryna put Chatham-Kent on the map. No cap.
