They haven't even *thought* about saving for retirement in the past year. Some haven't ever saved, that's a mega L. They're blaming rising costs, inflation, and just the general vibe of the economy being sus.

Homeowners are kinda winning, tho. 71% of them have actually saved something, compared to only 36% of renters. But even then, 65% of homeowners with mortgages are stressing about paying them off before their so-called "golden years." Renters? 84% are sweating over rising rent. It's all a mess, fr fr.

And it's not just the economy. 67% are hella worried about U.S.-Canada relations. All the global chaos is making 22% of people save *more*, just in case. Basically, everyone's paranoid. And with good reason.

Bottom line? Retirement is looking like a distant dream for a lot of Canadians. It's giving major anxiety, and honestly, who can blame them?
