So, like, Canada just wrapped up a major election on April 28th. Apparently, the main concerns were all about how expensive everything is, tariffs (whatever those are, lol), and how we're gonna deal with the U.S., especially with the Trump era back, no cap. The Liberals, now led by Mark Carney (cause Justin Trudeau dipped), were battling it out with the Conservatives, led by Pierre Poilievre.

The plot twist? A whopping 7.3 million Canadians already voted early! That's a record, fam! At first, everyone thought the Conservatives were gonna win, but then the Liberals started catching up after Carney stepped in. This whole thing was basically a referendum on the Liberal government and tryna figure out who could handle the White House and the economy the best.

Other parties like the NDP, Bloc Quebecois, and Green Party were also in the mix, low-key fighting for their lives. The polls were showing it was super close between the Libs and Cons, so nobody knew who was gonna take the W. Remember, tho, the popular vote doesn't always mean you get the most seats in the House of Commons, so it was a whole guessing game.

Apparently, both Poilievre and Carney have history with former PM Stephen Harper. Carney used to be the head honcho at the Bank of Canada and even the Bank of England. Poilievre's been in Parliament for like, ever. The Conservatives were tryna paint Carney as a total Liberal insider, while the Liberals were saying Poilievre doesn't have the sauce to deal with Trump and the affordability crisis.

Poilievre was yelling about the cost of living, while Carney was flexing his experience managing budgets and economies. But hold up, there's more drama!

Tragedy struck in Vancouver during a Filipino street festival. Some crazy car-ramming incident left 11 dead and over 20 injured. It was so messed up that the candidates had to tone down their campaigns out of respect. Shook.

Carney was all about his experience and how he can handle Trump, bringing up his time as Governor of the Bank of Canada and the Bank of England. He even said Trump is tryna break Canada. Yikes! But people were also side-eyeing Carney 'cause of his convos with Trump. Sketchy, right? Poilievre was running on "change," saying Carney is just a continuation of the same old Liberal stuff. He was talking about the housing crisis and illegal drugs, tryna get those votes.
