Okay, so, Canada's government dropped a report that's straight-up sus. Apparently, some Khalistani extremist groups have been getting that $$ from the Great White North. We're talking Babbar Khalsa International and the International Sikh Youth Federation. This ain't just chump change either; these groups are allegedly using the bag to try and stir up some chaos, politcially motivated violence, that is. Drama!
Spilling the Tea β
Alright, fam, listen up. Canada's been hit with some major allegations. A government report called the '2025 Assessment of Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Risks in Canada' says that Khalistani extremist groups have been getting bread from Canada. Like, actual financial support. Babbar Khalsa International and the International Sikh Youth Federation are being named and shamed in this whole mess.
So, what's the tea? Apparently, these groups fall under what the report calls "Politically Motivated Violent Extremism" (PMVE). Basically, they're tryna use violence to change the political system or create their own. The report goes on to say the groups use all sorts of methods, from money services businesses, banking sectors, and even crypto to get the bags. They're straight up abusing non-profits and charities, which is super sus. Like, come on, who does that?
Ottawa's intelligence agency also dropped a report saying that Khalistani extremists have been trying to use violence since the mid-80s to create a whole separate nation called Khalistan in India. And get this, last year, Hezbollah was named as the second most frequent group getting money out of Canada. This is lowkey a lot.
And it ain't just terrorism, either. The report also points out that illegal drug trafficking, fraud, trade scams, and tax crimes are big money laundering threats in Canada. Seems like they got a whole situation going on up there, no cap.
Canada's spy agency (CSIS) even said in their 2024 report that these Canada-based Khalistani extremists are still a national security threat. They're allegedly promoting, fundraising, and planning violence in India. Spicy!
