Calgary Trial Lowkey Wild: Dude Accused of Sketchy Kidnappings & More 😬

Alright, fam, listen up. This Richard Mantha dude is on trial in Calgary, and it's not looking good. He's accused of some serious stuff – we talking kidnapping, drugging, and sexually assaulting seven women between September 2020 and March 2023. Like, that's a whole lot of sus activity.

The trial was supposed to jump off earlier this year, but it got delayed 'cause Mantha yeeted his lawyer and then had a stroke. But a doctor said he's still good to stand trial, so here we are.

Witnesses are already dropping truth bombs. This one lady, Kathleen Budzey, testified about finding a woman looking totally out of it near a highway and calling the cops. Then this other dude, Christopher Vermeersch, who used to be a digital investigator, talked about the stuff they found on Mantha's phone.

The prosecutor is saying the explicit content on Mantha's phone is proof he was doing the deeds. They're claiming you can tell it's him from his voice and other stuff. But Mantha's lawyer clapped back, asking if the investigator could prove the pics and vids were even taken with the same phone they got them from. Turns out, they couldn't verify that, which is kinda sus.

And here's where it gets even more 😬. They played a police interview with one of the women, and she said she got offered a ride, drank a Sprite, then next thing she knew, she was waking up naked in an RV. She even said she got pushed out of the vehicle.

She was picked up by Alberta RCMP and dropped off at a CTrain station, and that the RCMP didn't follow up.

More witnesses are gonna spill the tea in the next few days, and they're hoping to wrap up the arguments by the end of May. Keep your eyes peeled, 'cause this case is wild.
