Okay, so listen up. This dude, Rylan Laplante from Calgary, has been through it. We're talking wheelchair-bound since he was like 12 'cause of some super rare genetic condition that messed with his arms, legs, and even his voice. He couldn't even feed himself or anything, which is a major L.

But here's the plot twist: last fall, he took his first steps in over a decade! Now, he's planning to walk a whole 10 kilometers at the Calgary Marathon 10k. That's like, a whole glow-up. He's doing it to give back to the Alberta Children’s Hospital Vi Riddell Pain and Rehabilitation Centre, where he was a patient for seven years. He's also trying to raise some bread to help other kids going through the same kinda stuff.

He’s been grinding with the medical squad at Calgary’s G23 Clinic since 2020, shoutout to Dr. David E. Manning, for helping him on this journey. The 10k is happening at Stampede Park on May 24 at 7:30 a.m., and he's aiming to finish it in about three hours. Mad respect!
