Okay, so, Monday afternoon in Burnaby, B.C., a multi-family crib went up in flames. The rescue mission was a whole mood – strong winds, thunder, and lightning. But they still got the doggo to safety. The dog was acting kinda sus, so they took it to the vet to make sure it's all good. On the same night, the rescue team was also out there helping Mounties find someone else in the McCullough Lake area. These are the real MVPs!
Vancouver Airport Drug Bust: Boomer Edition
Alright, buckle up for this tea. Some 72-year-old dude tried to pull a fast one at Vancouver International Airport, tryna smuggle 40 kilos of coke and meth to Hong Kong. Yeah, you read that right – 40 KILOS! He got arrested in the fall of 2023 and has been chilling in jail until now.
He pled guilty to possession and trafficking. Turns out, this dude, who's from China, rolled into Vancouver from Hong Kong like 12 days before they caught him. Border agents found 43 vacuum-sealed packs of drugs in his luggage. The street value in B.C. is around $310,000, but in Hong Kong? Over $4.3 million! He just got sentenced to five years in a B.C. prison, after which he'll be deported back to Hong Kong. The court was not happy with the amount of drugs, the planning, and the dude's previous trips to Canada. BUSTED!
