Bruh, Homeless Dude in Moose Jaw Didn't Make It Waiting for a Crib 💀

Alright, fam, this is kinda heavy. A dude in Moose Jaw, who was homeless, straight up passed away while waiting for some supportive housing. He was living in his car, which is already rough, and had some health issues, apparently. Square One staff had checked him out, but still, it's a major L.

Now, Square One's supportive housing program is doing its best, housing 36 people, but they're at FULL capacity. They got almost 50 people on the waitlist. But they are also killing it, no one has left in 6 months.

The general manager at Square One is saying this whole tragedy is because they don't have enough resources to get vulnerable people housed, especially with winter coming. Like, there are 125 people straight up unhoused in Moose Jaw right now.

The feds are throwing money at the housing program, but housing issues are more of a province thing. The Ministry of Social Services says they're working with service providers and community orgs to tackle homelessness and make sure there are emergency shelters and connections to other services. They also just dropped some cash to try and fix the problem.

Shoutout to the community tho, Square One is saying they appreciate all the support. It's what's been making the program successful. Let's hope they can get more funding to stop this kind of stuff from happening again, for real.
