The plot twist? They were hitting people up with a "digital arrest" scam. Basically, they'd call victims, claiming they were involved in some heavy stuff like drug trafficking or money laundering. Then, they'd demand money to make it all go away, using fake IDs and scripts to make it look legit. Straight up sus, right?

So, the Bengaluru police rolled up and raided their spot. Turns out, they were recruiting young people on platforms like LinkedIn and WorkIndia, promising them accommodation and jobs. But really, they were training them to be cyber fraudsters, teaching them to speak in a fake US accent and use these scam scripts. They were even handing out fat incentives for the amount they defrauded, with some employees allegedly bagging up to ₹5 lakh (INR) in a month. Big yikes!

The cops cuffed 16 people from all over India – Maharashtra, Meghalaya, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, and Gujarat all have representatives.
