The Deets
Okay, fam, so listen up. A black bear was straight-up acting sus near Waterton Lakes National Park. Apparently, it got a little too close for comfort with a hiker on the Cameron Lakeshore Trail. We're talking aggressive vibes, and Parks Canada was like, "Nah, we can't let this slide."
After conservation officers rolled up and saw the bear was still throwing hands with anyone that walked by, they had to make a tough choice. For public safety, they had to give the bear the yeet and say skill issue. It was a last resort, but safety first, y'know?
Parks Canada is out here reminding everyone that we gotta share the park responsibly. That means hiking in packs, making some noise so the bears know you're coming, and always, ALWAYS, carry bear spray and know how to use it. Keep your snacks locked up, don't feed the wildlife (duh), and give those animals their space. We're talking 30 meters for deer and sheep, and a whole 100 meters for the bears.
Good news though, the Cameron Lakeshore Trail is back open as of this morning. So if you're tryna hit the trails, you're good to go. But for real, if you see a bear, don't be a hero. Report that sighting to Parks Canada ASAP!
